Some of Gregory Zeorlin’s poems are ten words long and fit on a tiny piece of watercolor paper.  That page of words and another with an image fit in a lidded tin he calls a “Ten Word Tin.”  The tin is just smaller than a cell phone but it doesn't make ring tones, offer texting, twitter, or play music.  The tin never needs charging although it might recharge you.  This “Ten Word Tin” could start a face-to-face conversation.

This tin is titled “Pulse.”  This earthen toned heart is a detail view of a painting I made with soil, ash, coal dust, and other ingredients gleamed from our world.  It beats with the magic, logic, chaos, and order of the world.  It’s our common heart and needs to be protected from becoming cynical and cold.  The heart is in a small tin that can be carried by everyone.

What do you do with this tin?  Share it.  Give one to someone who needs to get back in rhythm with our common heart.  Leave one in a friend’s home to signify a great visit.  This tin goes anywhere you wish.
