I'm a mixed media artist because this category allows me the broadest interpretation on what I do. I follow ideas which leads to using a wide range of materials and techniques to make art. As an idea maker I am free to experiment frequently which leads to all sorts of unexpected projects. This website featuring "lowbrow" art is an example of testing my ideas out. I certainly do other types of art and you can see examples at ZeorlinArt.com.
Over the years I've exhibited my artwork in venues ranging from street festivals to art museums, galleries to gift shops, open studios, websites and blogs. It is also included in public and private collections. I'm certain exposure to the arts enriches our lives although it isn't a substitute for a loaf of bread or tank of gas. But imagine the loss that would occur if art was abandoned in an overly pragmatic world. Anything I make is done to encourage more ways of thinking and seeing what is around us.
I completed my MFA from Alfred University,Alfred, NY and a BA from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, TN. Over the years I've presented art workshops, completed artist-in-residency and visiting artist programs. I've taught art in universities and high schools I received a fellowship from the National Endowment For The Arts. I volunteer with the Downtown Tyler Artist Coalition to promote art in the East Texas community.
You are encouraged to tell others about my artwork, websites and blog.
