Stick Figure Sculpture
These pieces are observations on the ways people make their way through the world. Most people spend much of life passing through unremarkable zones where the day-to-day tasks turn into decades of time. We spend much time working and worrying. But, sometimes we can still be like kids at play. These stick figures are neither male or female although there are anatomical details on some of them. This collection is like members of a small village.
The stick figures are made of wood, mixed media and found objects. The fabrication process is intentionally simplified. The forms bring together my interests in abstract painting and primitive toys, jig dolls and folk art.
