The piece titled "Release" is my thought of how a prayer might look in a three-dimensional form. It is beautiful, potent and has it's own energy. This piece incorporates parts of various metal vents that are used on homes and buildings. In this way I try to make the connection to venting a prayer from within. Look closely and you will notice a small suspended bell in the upper right corner. Many religions use sounds to designate significant moments in a service or ceremonial gathering. At the top left, the word release is stamped into metal and is contained in a small cage. Some prayers are hard to release. Of course, prayer is always changing as will my art.
