Time Trials
This race is more a procession
the results, preordained
first, last, and everything in-between
finish without concession.
Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad,
Allah and all powers that be
sweat and smile while
in a tie for eternity.
Everybody's place, one and the same
anyone waves at everyone
each pleased knowing everyone's name
all of us in this human race.
