Time Shaving
An electric shaver hums
following the contours of a face
that cannot stop growing up
Rounded facial features give way
sculpted forms now define
a young man who resists
This is the boy-man son
with his growing lists
of all that must be done
Days of just living
seeking what might be fun
give way to time shaving
Behaving as one must
time follows a young man’s face
still unfamiliar with adulthood.
