How We Do That
I told my wife
there are squirrels copulating
in our trees.
Tell me how they do that
please.
Two creatures balancing high
amongst the leaves.
Nature pairs them on
a daring trapeze.
Tell me how they do that,
please.
It’s unlikely I’ll swing
naked through our trees.
My wife believes my brain
is infested with fleas.
But, tell us how we do that
please!
Just the two of us
lounging with ease.
Hiding up high in
our haven of trees.
